Meet Viki

“Power pop gems,” “begs for radio play,” and “excellent songwriting skills,” are common phrases in Viki’s reviews of her debut album, Catch Me If You Can! She is often described as being a stylistic offspring of Gwen Stefani & Michelle Branch, wether that's accurate, we'll let you be the judge! She does wield a guitar and writes her own songs and happens to have a cute mid-drift & great stage presence. But Viki's musical tastes have been molded by listening to classic pop idols like the Beatles, Zeppelin, Janis Joplin and Aerosmith, albums her parents listened to. The craft of song-writing, a good hook and real & personal lyrics are important to her, not to mention a good guitar solo once in a while!

Viki Nova is a young girl who’s already shared the stage with acts like Train, The Barenaked Ladies, and The Calling among others... and she's not even signed to a major label. Viki has taken her career in her own hands, forming her own record label , Think For Yourself Records (appropriately also the name of a Beatles song) to release her first CD. She has become the "it" girl in the Northern Virginia/DC local music scene where her songs are getting spins on 4 different radio stations' local music shows. Viki was the first female artist to do an in-studio interview and performance on "Local Lix" at DC101, Washington's #1 rock station. Viki's name also makes steady appearances in local press like the Washington Post, Washington Times, OnTap and Music Monthly.

“Catch Me If You Can” was recorded in seven days in Falls Church, VA and produced by Rich Isaac (who’s worked with SR-71 and Marvelous 3). “This album has the full rock band sound I’ve always wanted and was hearing in my head when I wrote these songs,” she says. Her live shows these days are also with a full band. “First and foremost, the guys are great musicians,” she laughs, ”but come on, they’re eye candy for the girls too!”

Hungarian-born Viki Nova moved to the states with her parents when she was 7 years old. She grew up in Orlando, FL and recently became a college grad. from American University in Washington, DC. Music and performing has been present most of Viki's life: she has played piano, violin, saxophone, guitar, and acted in many plays and musicals in high school, college, and in her community. Her love of music has led her to pursue it full time - some of her secondary loves include animals, photography and web design.
